Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Lodge – Rhino Tracking

  • 07:00 AM: Depart Kampala and drive north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (approx. 3.5 hours).

  • 10:30 AM: Arrive at Ziwa Rhino Lodge and check in.

  • 11:00 AM: Enjoy a guided rhino tracking experience on foot with a ranger.

  • 01:00 PM: Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

  • 03:00 PM: Optional guided nature walk or bird watching in the sanctuary.

  • 07:00 PM: Dinner and overnight at Ziwa Rhino Lodge.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drive & Boat Cruise

  • 06:00 AM: Early breakfast and depart for Murchison Falls National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hours).

  • 09:00 AM: Enter through Kichumbanyobo Gate and proceed to the northern game viewing tracks.

  • 09:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Enjoy a morning game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalo, leopards, and antelope species.

  • 12:30 PM: Lunch near Paraa or packed lunch on safari.

  • 02:00 PM: Embark on a Nile River boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls. Watch crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and diverse birdlife.

  • 05:00 PM: Optional hike to the top of the falls (if interested and physically fit).

  • 06:00 PM: Return to Ziwa Rhino Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Optional Chimp Trekking – Return to Kampala

  • 06:30 AM: Early breakfast and check out.

  • 07:00 AM: Optional transfer to Budongo Forest Reserve for chimpanzee trekking (requires advance booking and permit).

  • 08:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Track wild chimpanzees in the rainforest with a professional guide.

  • 11:30 AM: Begin drive back to Kampala with lunch stop en route.

  • 05:30 PM: Arrive in Kampala and drop-off at your hotel or residence.
