The park is also a birding paradise with more than 450 bird species, including the rare shoebill stork.
One of the highlights of a visit is the boat cruise along the Nile River, offering close-up views of hippos, basking crocodiles, and animals drinking at the water’s edge, all leading up to the dramatic base of the falls. For the adventurous, a hike to the top of Murchison Falls reveals spectacular views and the thunderous roar of the Nile plunging into the Devil’s Cauldron.
