Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale National Park – Check-in at Primate Lodge Kibale

  • 07:00 AM – Depart from Kampala and begin your scenic drive to western Uganda. Enjoy views of tea plantations, lush hills, and small towns along the way.

  • 01:00 PM – Stop in Fort Portal for a hot lunch.

  • 02:30 PM – Continue to Primate Lodge Kibale, nestled within the heart of Kibale Forest.

  • 03:30 PM – Arrive and check into your forest cottage. Relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings or enjoy a short nature walk.

  • 07:00 PM – Dinner served at the forest restaurant. Overnight stay at Primate Lodge Kibale.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience – Bigodi Wetland Nature Walk

  • 06:30 AM – Early breakfast in the forest restaurant.

  • 07:30 AM – Walk to the nearby Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for briefing and chimpanzee trekking registration.

  • 08:00 AM – Start your chimpanzee tracking adventure. Trek through the rainforest with expert guides to locate and observe a wild chimpanzee troop for up to one hour.

  • 11:30 AM – Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

  • 03:00 PM – Head out for a guided tour of the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary—a community conservation area rich in monkeys, birds, and butterflies.

  • 05:30 PM – Return to Primate Lodge Kibale. Enjoy the evening in the lounge or by the fire pit.

  • 07:00 PM – Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
